Already Married: When Did/Will You Eat Frozen Cake?
Just trying to see if we should wait until our 1 year anniversary as many people do. A lot of people I know have eaten their frozen top piece on their 1 month anniversary instead, because they didn't want to eat year-old cake!!
What did/will you do?

we ate ours on our 1-month and it was disgusting. We probably didn't wrap it up the way we should have. We will have ourselves some nice fresh cake on our 1-yr anniversary!

I think you're suppose to eat it on your 1st one year anniversary...it's probablly going to be disgusting

We had planned to save it but the top layer moved from the bottom layer in FIL's car. Of course, he brough it home with the box. When he opened the box, the top part fell on my arm and bottom of my dress (which I ran to clean instantly). It was everywhere... countertop, cabinet door, floor. DH got so mad.
I hide in the LV. I thought that was hilarious. No point in crying at that time. DH cleaned it all.
Anyway... no cake for me in 1 month or next year. We decided we would celebrate by going back to our hall in the restaurant part and eat there.

ok so i am not married yet obviously
BUT
my parents have a deep freezer and my cousins and siblings put their cake in there and ate it on their first anniversary - it is tradition in my family
they all said it was okay - they only ate a bite but it wasnt too bad. . .

we've been married three weeks and we ate the darn cake already. i just couldn't see wasting that nice cake by letting it get all freezer burned and gross. and boy it was good!

I was wondering about this too..
Did anyone try one of those cake boxes that in theory keps the freezer burn out?
We are going to bring ours home but we both can't be trusted around chocolate and will probabaly end up eating it that night

we had our one year anniversary in june, and we ate our cake. my mom kept it in her freezer wrapped in saran wrap and in a tupperware container that was also in a plastic bag- LOL. so it was well- sealed! it actually wasn't too too bad. the cake part was a little dry, BUT the buttercream icing actually froze really well... so we ate a lot of that!

We ate ours when we returned from our first anniversary trip----it was AMAZING! Just as good as the day of the wedding--better since we got to eat more. We had just froze it in tin foil (hall had wrapped it for us)--it looked beautiful too!!!

im saving a slice for us too share on our 1 yr.....bc im sure it will be nasty!! but the rest of the top we will eat prob the day after! id hate too waste it all!

My grandma ate it while we were on our HM! She didn't know it was a tradition and ate the remainder! So, for the one year, we just went out and bought a black forest cake, just like we had.

We saved two pieces.. one for 1 month and 1 for 1 year. We did eat the 1 for 1 month.

Oh.....we wrapped our in saran wrap then tin foil then saran again and finallu put it in an ait tight container.

The next day - lol I didn't have any the night before and DH had dreams about it (yes, on our Wedding Night DH was dreaming about the CAKE !!)

One of the bride shows on the Style Newtwork suggested cutting 12 slices so you can have one every month until your first anniversary.
Seems like a cute idea and that way you at least will get a few good slices out of it, cause after like 6 months that crap cant taste good.

I guess we'll try to eat it on our 1 year anniversary, but I'm assuming it will be disgusting so we'll just end up choking down a symbolic bite.
My sister actually ate half of hers the day after her wedding because she had only eaten the bite her husband fed her. I have the other half of hers in my freezer (along with mine) because she never took it after her HM. She'd better eat that thing on her 1 year anniversary because it's taking up space!!!!
