I haven't FM'd or paid yet... What's stopping me is the seating arrangement.
I have never been to a GTG before and I'm concerned that everyone will be saving seats for those who they already know.
You have no idea how much it took me to just say that out loud. So please don't pick on me.

it's a cocktail reception, which means there won't be assigned seating or full tables with chair set up....
we're having smaller cocktail tables set up an chairs scattered throughout the room...

You aren't the only one who's a newbie at GTGs and we all know how it feels to be a newbie, so trust us when we say COME and you'll have a great time!!!!! I've never heard of someone who came to a GTG for the 1st time and didn't enjoy themselves!!!

Re: Alright. Who ISN'T going to the '06 GTG and what's stopping you?
I was worried about the same thing, but after about 2 minutes, I am always comfortable at an LIW GTG. I still do not know a ton of people, because I have met the same few people a several GTGs I won't complain b/c I love those people!!!
What I would love is for someone to post a list of names alongside the people's screen names (to have it all in one place). I'd start it, but I was wondering if there was someone who could get us started with a more complete list (someone who knows more ppl.).
Another idea: may be we should encourage poeple going ot the GTG to use their picture in their avatar for the week leading to the GTG. It may be tough b/c people want to use holiday avatars or pictures of dirty things like hardwood floors with no rugs over them.

I got this list from the GTG thread on 06. Everyone's names to the best of my recollection--
