Now we've got to figure out how to cut corners on the rest of our wedding planning. Any tips on how to save $ on limos, invites, favors, attendant gifts?

for invites, i recommend party city - they have the same books of invitations that are everywhere else, but they discount 30%
what were you thinking of getting for favors? one of my friends got placecard frames at The Favor Center in lynbrook (i think) - she said their pricse were about half of what she saw elsewhere

Major congratulations!!! It is so funny how getting engaged is one thing but buying real estate together -- THAT IS A COMMITMENT. I told FI that was when it all hit me -- at the closing more than the proposal. Weird, huh?

Also Lillian -- did you see Nadine Graham's budget wedding website -- she posted a link a few weeks ago. I can pull it up for you; had all sorts of good leads about vendors that were discounted.

w/ cutting corners- the invitations- you can make them yourselves, and they have some Beautiful kits.. it will save you hundreds right there. the favors- if you do a donation, you could just donate the $$ after the wedding if you need to- like use some of the gift money, so that its less that you have to lay out now. w/ the attendants gifts- focus on making them more personal, rather than extravvagant, and w/ the limos... post on the vendors board, and see if you can bargain w/ the prices they give you (and have them all send you a quote, so you know where Their starting point is).

It is tough financially- but sooo worth it!
