Soo found a dress I really like and its veryy expensive to begin with but then she tells me that its 250 for alterations just for the hem and top and then another 250 for a simple french bustle..Is this a lot or is it just what it costs?

i don't know if that's expensive or not but i paid $220 for the same alterations as you, so it could be the standard rate. not sure.

That seems a little high to me but not unreasonable. I paid almost $300 for my french bustle but I paid only $95 for my alterations. I only had the sides taken in and my alterations were capped at $295. If your price for the alterations is capped, no matter how much the have to alter the dress then I'd say that's a good price. If it's just for a simple hem and to take in the sides, then it's a little high.
