Alteration question

I am having my dress changed from an A-line to a trumphet. My alterations with bustle will cost me $690 Thats a lot of money do you think I should just pay to have it done at the salon or take it to a dress maker that I use. I know she will definetly charge me less, but I don't know what to do. I am way over on my budget and need oppinons. I don't know what to do?

if you know a dress maker that will do a good job and charge you less, you should go for it. but make sure that she has done that sort of thing before.

i know nothing about the charges of changing a dress from one style to another---but that's a LOT to pay!
