Alterations

Alterations

So I'm going for my first fitting on Thursday and I'm having serious reservations about having my alterations done there. Other brides who have worked with them said their alteration prices were ridiculous. So I've got three questions for ya

1- How much should I expect to pay for alterations? Is it broken down or is it an overall fee?

2- If I decide not to work with them, can I just take my dress with me?

3- Can I just bring my dress somewhere else without having ordered the dress from them?

ok maybe 4- where should I bring it for alterations?

Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Re: Alterations

My alterations were 200 and I got the following:

French Bustle
Cups Sewn In
Straps Shortened
Top Taken In
Seams let out on sides
hem

Hope this helps!

Re: Alterations

My alterations are capped at $170-meaning the most I will pay is $170-probably will be less because i don't need too much done. The bustle is an additional $10 per point.

If your place is ridicuously expensive, simply pay it off and take it home. Many girls rave about Phyliss on here for alterations-Im sure someone can give you her contact info.

Re: Alterations

My bridal salon gave me two prices for my dress when we bought it - one was JUST for the dress, but the other was $200 more for the dress and all alterations - unlimited so that if I gain and then lose again or whatever, they will keep altering it until the day before if I need it.

Re: Alterations

my alterations were $250 extra, but that includes any and all alterations i may need until the day of the wedding, plus a regular bustle (french may have been more, but it didn't look right with my dress)

hope this helps!

Re: Alterations

Mine was $300, cups sewn in, hem, top taken, a lot of points on my bustle, and she redid the train for me. I used Phyllis from Bridal Elegance. HTH
