it depends on the dress...if its very intricate its going to cost more.

some bridal houses start at either 375 or 575.00 depends on the dress.

the place where i got my dress is charging me $350 on alterations and $150 to bustle it -- but this might be higher than other places - it might depend on where you get your dress, the detail on it and how much it costs.

everything is soo expensive b/c of the word wedding associated with it. I read somewhere that if something is a 'wedding item' they usually charge 70% more than if it was a regular item. CRAZY!!!

mine is probably going to be insane...the dress has scalloped edges and is all beaded. I should have thought about that before I bought it lol

mostly all places have a cap on alterations no matter what they have to do to it. It also would depend on the price of your gown. I'm sure if someone buys a gown thats $1000, it would be insane to charge $500 for alterations.

Some also have cap.... be aware some places say there is a cap but then they charge a second fee to do the thing in the back lol.

most places have a cap on alterations and then have a charge per bustle point...thats what we do at our store at least...ive seen that this is very common.

Bugger! My moms dress was only 120...if they were to charge her 300 I would feel so terrible!
