I have a budget in mind for the dress and I need to have an idea of how much alterations cost (I am just under 5ft so I know they are going to have to make a bunch of changes..) so I dont go over budget by buying a dress that with alterations is too expensive

Re: alterations
You should ask your bridal shop, since each places varies. mine has a $250 cap... so bascially I will only be paying up to 250... but it varies everywhere.

Wow ... That is cheap ... Do they only do the cap if you buy your dress from them?
I got my dress at Kleinfelds and I was thinking of using them for alterations because their basement is alterations and they have like every bead and diamon down there ever ... My dress was a sample and its missing some beads, so I wanted that replaced but im also 4' 11 and I need it cut and the bust fixed a little ... so I would just rather they do it. They have a flat fee of 575 though, which includes dry cleaning and pressing!

Mine is $250. She's doing a lot to the dress too. But I want to get it dry cleaned and that's not included. It's a private shop in westchester.

i really have no idea... i never asked bc they were the ones to give me the best price on my gown so i bought it through them... Def call and ask if you're interested, but be prepared for some of carol's (owner?) sarcasm
