Alterations

Alterations

OK...I just turned into Bridezilla again...tell me if I'm wrong here.

I love the Bridal Shop that I have been using since the start. The people there have been so good to me. I have already purchased my gown, my bustle, my underskirt, my veil, seven bridesmaids dress and two flower girl dresses PLUS alterations for everything from this place. Between me and my girls, thousands of dollars have been spent in this shop.

My sister went for her alterations today which were not supposed exceed $45. Granted, she has lost a lot of weight...but they told her it would be $95 instead of $45. I have not tried to talk them down for anything through this whole process. I feel now like they are starting to rip me off. I want to call them and say something, but I don't know if I can without freaking out. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Should I just let it go or should I call?

Re: Alterations

Did you get it in writing that the alterations were capped at $45? If not, you can try to talk them down but it may not help. If it is contracted to be capped at $45, call and let 'em have it!

You should tell them that you were quoted not more than $45 and to charge me anymore is totally unacceptable especially since you have purchase so much through them. You are not a bridezilla - they shouldn't quote you something and then go back on their word.

Re: Alterations

kelly, I had the same problem in my cousins wedding
usually in the contract there is a CAP with exceptions, and usually the exception is either change of size from the orginal measurments, & pregnancy - which is fair because they are taking the respondsibility of the size-But if you are to either gain or loose weight then alot more work has to be done with the seamstresses, that is what was explained to me.....
Good luck

Re: Alterations

I got a cap on my gown, and I told her I was going to lose weight (which I did). She wrote on the contract that it is still capped no matter how much I lose.
