alterations advice

After spending $300 for alterations I still needed a bustle so I wound up bringing it to a big dry cleaning place that does everything & paid another $100. (I didn't like the guy who did my alterations so that's why I went some where else) I kept telling the lady that it didn't look strong enough & they reassured me it was fine. The second I got out of the limo after the ceremony it broke. Do you think it's worth going back & asking for $ back or will they think I'm crazy?

I think that its worth going in to the dry cleaning place and asking to speak to a manager. I mean, you did pay for them to put the bustle in, and you did doubt how strong it was and they assured you it would be fine. You might want to say that if they make things right and refun (at least part) of your money, you're be comfortable reccomending them if someone asks. But if they don't, you'll be forced to share your unfortunate experience with others. Sometimes stores truly care about reputation and will do whatever they can to make things right. good luck

I would say something -- that stinks!

Definitely say something. Hopefully, you know who it was who told you it was fine.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I had the same problem with my bustle! I've been thinking about saying something too. I was supposed to have 2 strong hooks & loops. I was so surprised on the day of when we went to do the bustle to see the ONE teeny tiny hook that was supposed to hold up my heavily beaded chapel length train. It broke several times even with the million safety pins we used.

I think you should say something. It's worth a try.

Definitely give it a try.... I'm sure they'd assume you'd be spreading bad news about them if they didn't give you at least something back if you complain. Who would want that reputation going around? Good luck! What's the worst they could do? Say no....
