Alterations/ Fitting- when to go?

I picked up my dress at the DB in Westbury this past Sunday, and my good ol' mother asked every saleswoman in the store when would be a good time to come in for a fitting. I was surprised when everyone said early March for an early May wedding.

Doesn't that seem like it's cutting it (no pun intended) down to the wire, even if I only need very slight alterations (take in at the top since I'm not well endowed for my size dress

i had my first fitting on 9/20 for my 11/4 wedding and they were annoyed that i made it so 'early'

i was a neurotic but i had 4 fitting and brought the dress home on tuesday for my wedding next friday

i dont think that's too late

if it makes you feel more comfortable, make the first fitting a little earlier to get the ball rolling

i lost ten pounds between my first and second fittings and they were NOT happy

Early March is fine for a May wedding. I didn't have my first fitting at Kleinfeld until April 19th for my May 21st wedding. I wanted it as close to the wedding as possible. I don't recommend doing it that close, however. I ended up crying at Kleinfeld at my 2nd fitting when I found out I had to squeeze in a THIRD fitting! :(
