For those of you whose mothers ordered their dresses, where are they getting alterations done? If my mom buys her dress at a wedding store such as RK Bridal and goes to a local seamstress, she can save a HUGE chunk of $$. But I don't want to risk having it get messed up. I guess there is some peace of mind having the store do it..

My mom is taking her gown to her regular seamstress. She's in Valley Stream and has been doing alterations for my mom, my dad, and myself forever. I believe FMIL also might go there. FM me if you want her info.

My MOH actually took her dress to where I got my gown and it was VERY reasonable for alterations.
Call Helen's Bridal in Wedding World and see how much it would cost. They are located in Commack.
