Alterations for my FMIL's gown...

I am a little pissed off that the bridal salon wanted $100 to alter her jacket. All they would have to do is let it out an INCH. I even bought 2 yards of fabric to make sure she had enough, until she told me she only needed the arms to be altered. I was pissed b/c I spent $100 on the freaking fabric.

Anyway, It just made me sick that the salon charged $100 , when we went to the cleaners and they charged $25 for the jacket.

I hate having to tell people I am getting married, or that it's for a wedding b/c they automatically see the word 'sucker' on your forehead.

Letting something out is alot more work then taking it in (I sew). Next time order big.

Well, there was originally a whole fiasco with the dress, and she wound up calling the bridal salon in the end and cursing them out...so this was a big deal to begin with. They ordered the dress bigger, but the jacket came smaller? So she argued with them about ordering the dress in her size and not taking into account the jacket. So that was the reason she was pissed off.

I understand that taking it out may be harder than taking it in, but why does it cost half of what the bridal salon quoted me, in the cleaners? lol that is why I am so angry at them.

Bridal salons are always overpriced. Your right- they play off the fact that your a bride and take advantage. I am getting my dress altered else where, I have had it with bridal salon crap!
