Can anyone reccomend a good seamstress to get alterations done on my wedding dress in brooklyn or near brooklyn ? I waited too long to make an appointement and now i can't get it done where i bought my dress . Boo rk ! Thanks

I took my dress to Sposabella in Bay Ridge but I didn't have a very good experience with them when it was time to get my dress; they were very unprofessional about keeping appointments and deadlines.
Don't know if you would want to take your dress there. I guess you need to be on top of them to make sure your dress is ready on time.

Thanks fellow brooklyn bride i saw your last post about make up and hair . I'm thinking of going to Helene ( your pics look beautiful btw) how much did u pay for the day of hair & make up? And who would you recommend ?

doris' had a fire a week and a half ago in the basement ... they are in a temp location for now ... they were able to get a new dress for me (thank G-D!!!!) and it's supposed to be here at the end of this week ... maria said she'd give me one of the seamstresses' numbers to arrange alterations with her directly after the dress is in ...

I think I paid $240 for hair and makeup. I used Helene (she does all the brides) and Aida for hair. Brenda did my MOH's hair for her wedding.
Hair and makeup stayed perfect from 12 PM to 1 AM when I undid my hair.

Yeah, I also second Doris Fashions . My mom got her dress from there and had a great experience and the alterations were perfect.
