I went for my first fitting today (i forgot my camera, but i'll bring it next time). I actually need a lot of work done on my dress.
I'm taking it in at least 2 sizes, so the dress has to be taken apart and put back together (including the beading at the bust and at the train).
I need a major hem job.
I'm having the train shortened by about 2 feet
The bust has to be taken in a LOT thanks to my itty bitty titties.
And she's putting in a double french bustle ( i think that's what it's called). It's tucked under in two places...one on top of each other.
She quoted me 300 for all of that. does that sound reasonable?

Re: Alterations price quote opinions?
yeah sounds about average, alterations are usually between $200-300 for a wedding dress
bustles alone are about $15 a point and some places even $20-25
most stores cap their alterations at about $250-300...mine is $525 though hopefully i wont need that much work lol

I have to say that is a very good price. Why is it two sizes too big? Did you drop weight or did they order it the wrong size?

Re: Alterations price quote opinions?
Im paying 350 and Im not even getting my whole dress taken apart and put back together! She had to make it smaller and the bustle was gonna be a lot of work.

Oh, it was a sample sale dress, so it was too big when I bought it. But it's a princess seamed dress, so the alterations itself isn't too bad.
