Alterations Pricing....

Does anyone know about what the costs of alterations run - every dress is different - but I mean what is an average / decent price range?

I don't have my papers with me - but the range is $300-400 maybe more though not sure yet -for beading repair, fixing the zipper, repairing a small tear in the lace applique in the train and the hemming too, unless i do pick-ups in the front instead and also the bustle.

Im not using Phyllis and was starting to wonder if i should have gone to her. But thing was that the alter. company was at filenes and are located in the city near me so i figured it didn't make sense to lug it out to the Island...but i shouldn't second guess right!

Yeah sounds about right, dont think you are overpaying.

I am keeping mine...For me it had to do with a couple things, one whenever i make any decision quickly i start wondering if its the right one, two the one i tried on was green lol...but looking at the pics of my dress where it looks like its white, i absolutely love it and know its the one, i did love how it fit me, it made me look even thinner than i was and my waist looked tiny...i did feel amazing in it but yeah i am keeping mine...I am just gonna add a little beading to the bottom front instead of on the bodice like i had originally requested.

I am keeping mine...For me it had to do with a couple things, one whenever i make any decision quickly i start wondering if its the right one, two the one i tried on was green lol...but looking at the pics of my dress where it looks like its white, i absolutely love it and know its the one, i did love how it fit me, it made me look even thinner than i was and my waist looked tiny...i did feel amazing in it but yeah i am keeping mine...I am just gonna add a little beading to the bottom front instead of on the bodice like i had originally requested.

Yay!!! That dress was gorgeous and I don't think I had the chance to comment on your thread yet!! True when its not exactly the color you'd be getting I can see where that kinda throws you off.....but it does look amazing and I love the detailing on the back!!!!

tell me about it, that is GREAT!!! i had to order my dress a little bigger bc of my boobs and then have it taken in, also have to get alot of it hemmed...Tell me about it, i dont even want to know what it would be like to fix a kenneth pool dress, its all hand-made...which THANK GOD i bought my dress now bc its going to take a year until i get my dress, if i wouldve waited just a LIL bit longer i think i wouldve been panicking the whole time

i paid $250 for alterations. my gown had to be taken in a lot, as well as hemmed up like crazy...and it included a french bustle...i think there were like 8 or 9 ties in the bustle. i thought it was reasonable.

ETA: Phyllis at Bridal Elegance did my alterations/bustle.

yeah and out of all colors it was GREEN!!!! lol but thank you so much- I DO LOVE IT!!! my dad is the funniest bc he was like listen if you really want the other dress then go ahead and get it and ill pay for the difference, but he was like i just want you to know I am in love with that dress, it is amazing and you look so beautiful in it, which got me emotional of course lol.

in takes a year also! i was soo shocked ....thats why im soo glad i didnt wait
and also i plan on losing a lot of weight so works out in my favor

yeah my dad is funny, he gets overly excited about things and to see him get so excited about my dress is histerical...Hes the emotional one though my mom has a hard time showing it and almost NEVER cries, and she came 15 mins late to my dress appt, bc she was coming from work so when she got there i was in a dress with a veil and everything and she started to cry but turned around so ppl wouldnt see her but i did so i was up there histerically crying and everyone thought it was bc of seeing myself in a wedding dress lol but it wasnt
