I'm having a hard time with my alterations. It's bad enough I don't love my dress. Anyway, I got my dress at BR in Carle Place. The seamstress there wants to sew my bra into my dress. I don't see why they have to do that. If the alterations are done correctly then the dress shouldn't slip down. (my dress is strapless) I'm going back tonight for the third time for my first fitting. I'm bringing a new bra because the other one was too big on me. I guess I lost some weight. Has anyone had their bra sewn into their dress? I never thought I would have so much trouble with this.

Do you mean cups? I had cups sewn in b/c I didn't want to wear a bra...

Re: Alterations question
I've heard about sewing the bra into the dress. Not completely out of the ordinary.

No, they want to sew the bra in, not cups. I don't like cups because they won't suck me in a little by the waist. I've never heard of getting your bra sewn in to the dress before.

Re: Alterations question
I bought my dress off the rack and it has a bra sown into it already. There is a seperate zipper for the bra. I like, it pulls everything in.

Re: Alterations question
I've heard that they don't sew it completely in, put just some stitches in a few places, just so that if your dress shifts at all, your bra won't stick out.
