alterations.....adding a train.

So I think what bothers me most about my Reem Acradress is that it doesn't have a long train.. I currently have it listed on ebay hoping it sells for the price i paid for it so that i can go get anotehr one from somewhere...

but if that doesn't happen, does anyone know if you can have a dress altered to have a long train? Or would that probably be too costly, or look stupid? anyone have a suggestion of a place that can do it?

the dress is in my album.. i'll try to post it here also..

Sorry I can't help you but just wanted to say that your dress is soooo beautiful!!! I wouldn't change a thing about it!

I think your dress is gorgeous the way it is. I wouldn’t play around with it. I am sure a good seamstress can try to match your dress and attach a train but why? I had a chapel length train (was married in a cathedral) and I wish it was even shorter or no train at all - what a pain in the a s s to walk with.

Your dress is beautiful, why would you want to add a train ? It would just be bustled anyway ?

I can't imagine how a train would be added without showing a seam, unless the entire back of the dress from the waist down was changed. You would need to get the same fabric from the dress manufacturer to match your dress.
All that beadwork would have to be redone.

How about a longer veil over your dress, one that would extend a foot or so beyond the hem of the dress ?

Your dress is BEAUTIFUL!

What about wearing a cathedral length veil with it instead?

I was going to suggest the same thing. The dress is gorg! I say, leave as is. It's still very dramatic. Then add a cathedral veil.
My dress doesn't have a super long train so I did this, too.

The dress is really pretty. I love Reem Acra. Where did you get the dress? I had the same feeling about my dress. It was Kenneth Pool. But I paid extra for them to extend the train when they made the dress. If you ordered it from Reem, they will extend the length of the train while making the dress. The fee wasn't that much, considering the price of the gown. I think they charged me around $300. But I don't know about after the dress was made. You need to speak to a seemstress that works with Reem Acra dresses.
