alternative rehearsal dinner venues

Please help for the sake of my sanity...
We are looking for something outside of a sit-down dinner, formal affair..

1 idea so far is a bowling alley (w/ private room)

*the wedding is in April- the rd on a Thursday nite*

Lucky Chengs is really fun. At first I didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be a blast because they are hilarious there and it's an interactive dinner/show. I went for my friends bachelorette party and we all had a ball! However, this is your rehearsal dinner and I'm sure older people may be there so I'm not sure how they'd feel. But its worth checking out. Good luck.

I think the bowling alley is a great idea.

How about a dinner cruise on the Hudson or just cruise on the LI Sound with a simple meal and drinks?

Bowling alley seems cool...try Strike, I know they have corporate events there.

How about Dave & Busters? I love that place, I know there's a room you can reserve there, and you can reserve pool tables, or just go play games, there's so may options for all ages.

Strike in Lake Success does parties and has all kinds of food.

Also try Cue Bar in bayside .. more of a pool hall

Also, don't know you location but we go for a wings a lot over at Changing Times Bar in Northport and they always have parties going on there with a buffet set up

Ooh I like the bowling idea! But not everyone bowls so maybe have it at 300 in Farmingdale because of the bar. Or Dave & Busters so you have the video games too. I think there's a few with bowling alleys in them and you can get the private room. I think that one is in Farmingdale too or maybe Westbury.

my ILs had it at the Pompei in West Hempstead. We had a private room and it was good

Oh nevermind, I didnt read the 'outside of formal affair type'

Hi-

We were planning on doing Dave and Busters for ours. The price was very reasonable. You do have to pay a fee to rent the room. Depending on which D&B you choose its b/t $200-300. We did it b/c the one we would use has bowling, games and big bar area with TV's for anyone that just wanted to watch a game or something.

Good Luck!

we went to 300- FH and I LOVED it, the FILs hated it- they want a fancy sit down, so I'm trying to be flexible and find other options that are similar... thanks for helping me through this... I really don't understand why they are so against what we want
