You girls are lucky... if I were a bridesmaid one more time, I would have been doomed to dreaded spinsterhood... at least that's what the old wives' tale says.

Who are these old wives anyway? and why do the have tails?

how many do you have to be in before you're doomed?

I think the saying is 3 times a bridesmaid, never a bride.

It's true! I'm 26 but the first of all my friends to get married, and I have a tiny, tiny family It's frustrating not knowing how a wedding is 'supposed' to be!

Awww, don't sweat it!! I'm sure you will have a beautiful wedding and it will be exactly what you want and you won't be thinking 'well, at so & so's wedding, this & that, etc'.

MY MOH welcomes the 3 times a Bm saying. She does not want to be a bride..AT ALL

Maybe that's why I had the bridesmaid from hell. She's 34 and it was her FOURTH time as a bridesmaid...

I was a BM...although it was an honor the dress was atrocious!! It was cobalt blue...shiny cobalt blue and it ripped apart while taking pics all afternoon. By the time the reception started I had to have my dad bring me addidas tearaway pants because the dress was in pieces. So in a drunken stupor, I cut off the bottom of the dress and wore the top with my tearaway pants. I have done readings many times at catholic (maybe christian, i dunno) ceremonies and I felt very like that was a huge honor and I didn't have to wear another horrid dress.

Same for me. I went to my cousin's wedding 2 years ago, but I never thought I would get married so quickly. I'm the first of my friends to get married and besides one cousin, out of my family (who we like anyway) to get married also...

I've been in two wedding as a Bridesmaid and I'll be another Bridesmaid in my friends wedding in a week. So I guess that'll equal 3 times of being a Bridesmaid.

I have never been a bridesmaid - I have been MOH twice and am slated to be MOH twice more.

For my brother's wedding, I insisted on calling myself the 'old maid of honor'...... Incidentally, I left my brother's wedding with a new guy, better known to you all as my FI.

Okay, I have been a Bm's 6 Times. Of those times, I was MOH for 3. Thank Goodness, I am married!!!!! I was so sick of being a BMs towards the end. All three times, I was MOH there was always another BM who was nasty to me because they wanted to be MOH. Phew! It's Over.
