am I...

am I...

too nice? kinda long. Originally I did not ask my cousin to be in the wedding because I did not think she could afford it. My aunt convinced my mom that she could afford it because she 'wears $300 dollar shoes blah blah blah' which I did not see the relivance in that. But I asked her anyway, she kept saying that she was going to get fitted and I kept asking and asking. She lives in brooklyn and does not drive and my bridal shop is in commack. I ended up calling her measurements in, which meant I had to pay in full. To make a long story short her dress came to 219 because she needed a plus size dress. I told her she needs to pay me back. When the dress came in it took weeks for her to pick it up from me, and she only gave me $100 and said she will give me the rest. She went home and claimed that it was too big. She argued with me and the store clerk, even though we explained that we had to get it big to fit her waist and that the dress runs small. She was supposed to go to another shop and try on the dress to see if the smaller size fits and call me back. NO call all week. I called yesterday and she said she was just going to keep the dress and get it altered but made no statement about when I am going to get the rest of my money. I am so pissed off. I really feel like she is trying to get over on me. That is the history of her mom, my mom is like a bank to her mom. I don't know what to do. I am not confrontational and I don't know how to approach the situation. To make it worst she complained about going to LI but yet she went all the way to SC to get fitted for her cousins wedding. I tell FH EVERYTHING, but I am so ashamed to tell him this.

you need to step up and ask for the rest of the money. what do you have to lose? her getting mad and saying she doesnt want to be in the wedding? if it meant that much to you to have her in the wedding, you would have asked her along with everyone else in the beginning. you need to stand strong on this.

I think I am afraid of having a family battle a month before my wedding

You are not wrong in this situation, though, so DO NOT feel bad. You are entitled to get your money back. Call her up, and just say, 'I need 'x' amount now.'

your family will get over it. and they will see that she will look like the bad person. and this really shouldnt have to go past the two of you. just give her a call and just say i really need $119, you can send a check if you want. if it goes past the 2 of you and someone else says something, just be like...i didnt think this was such a big deal that the whole family needed to be involved. say...we had an agreement and im just making sure she follows through.
