Am I a Bridezilla?

Am I a Bridezilla?

I went shopping with my MOH tonight to find a dress for her. She picked the bridal place and she began to try on dresses. I was kinda browsing around and noticed that the dresses had the tags ripped out. MOH called me into the dressing room and I basically told her that I had moral objections to purchasing anything through a store who did this. Well apparently my voice was a little loud and the saleslady was standing right behind me. My MOH asked if I wanted to leave and I said no, you can still try dresses on but I just wont buy them here. A few minutes later my MOH informs me that she KNOWS these people and that her whole family KNOWS these people and that I am very embarassing and that I was a bridezilla. Do you think I was out of line?

I would say that telling her you wouldn't buy the gown there was an honest mistake.

One of the biggest lessons that I learned was to never reveal to ANY vendor, store, supplier, etc. what my true feelings were.

For example, I took a BM gown shopping at Macys. I found the perfect gown. She loved it, too. So, then I said, 'okay, lets go for a coffee break and then come back to work on the details. I just need a quick energy boost before a fall asleep' Everyone, including the sales lady, was like 'OK, GREAT!'

Once we got outside, I told the BM that I already found those $250 Macy's gowns elsewhere for $134. I later called Macy's on the phone to negotiate a better price, but they weren't willing to come down that low.

The rest is history!

I've heard that also - not to let the vendors know your true feelings about things. I guess to use it as a bargaining tool in a way

I don't think you were being a bridezilla, I think you were trying to do what you thought was right and unfortunetly like most of us our thoughts tend to slip out of our mouths a bit too quickly but I don't think you have anything to be upset about.

i don't think that's bridezilla-ish at all! you were in the right, unfortunate that the store people heard you, but you were still right!

No. You're not a bridezilla.

Seems strange to me that your MOH wouldn't have told you about her relationship with the store ahead of time.

I agree.

I also don't think you were being a bridezilla at all. I think it was an honest mistake.

your MOH should have mentioned it before. You were being honest and I agree with you about the stores that rip out tags.

its not your fault the sales lady was listening in
