Am I a Bridezilla?

Ok so mom comes over today and I'm showing her stuff I've bought recently....well we're talkin about the wedding, and I'm like oh I have to get on the horn and start calling vendors to see when we do final meetings and whatnot....so she goes well when you go to the WM to choose your menu I wanna come....so I'm confused, I'm like why? She said well I may want to give imput and have opinions.......and there isnt much to choose from, just CH hot stations need to be chosen.

am i overreacting to be annoyed? i think it was more of her tone....like well this is what i want.....you had your wedding, i get to choose my food!

my parents want to do the same thing...my parents are paying for most of our wedding so It is only right for them to come with us i think. If you are doing it on your own, then id agree its not necessary, but if they are paying I think its the right thing to do to have them there jmo

yeah i understand...my dad is making it very difficult to actually go and choose the menu because he wants us to do it when it is convenient for him...i keep trying to explain that this is not how it works but he just doesnt get it lol

I think that if she is paying for part of the reception, she has every right to go. My parents are going to ours and I am fine with it since they are paying for the reception. However, if she is paying for things other than the reception, then maybe you could tell her not to worry, 'I won't choose hot dogs for appetizers.' heh

we went alone to ours but hmmm not sure if i wouldve minded. Part of me would've minded though depending on how it was asked. If somebody asked in a way like they didn't think i could handle it, i wouldnt invite them lol. But if somebody was just excited about it and wanted to just join in for the fun then I wouldn't mind.

If your mom said it in a way that she felt you wouldn't do a good job on your own then yeah that would annoy me too

Well if she is paying half of the wedding or more than half then maybe she can come to see whats up.... BUT, I dont think she should be making decisions and choosing stuff..... My parents gave us about 5 K, and have not put in their 2 cents for anything.... I think if you wanted her to be there or wanted her to help make decisions- then that would be fine.... but its not her wedding- its yours. She shouldnt be choosing stations or deciding dinners... you and your FH should be doing that.

i guess.......we didnt ask or assume they'd give us money, she just told us this is what we plan on giving you towards the wedding........i think it was more just the tone.....rather than expressing that she would like to participate she more demanded it......i dunno, I'm very fussy when asked things the wrong way, I dont like being told what to do or this is what I have to do

I wouldn't be offended.. My mom is my best friend and I would love to have her there to bounce some ideas off of. I guess that I wouldn't have a problem with her being there

I dont think you are being a Bridezilla. FH and I paying for everything and no one is going to tell us what food we should have or give opinions.
