I am getting married in December and so far, have been the 'typical' bride - looking at countless dresses, invitations, favors, and listening to every love song known to man to find the perfect song for the ceremony.
However, I don't care AT ALL what my cake and flowers look like, and it has everyone helping me dumbfounded. Am I the only one who has a 'major aspect' that they just don't care about it? Everyone has made such a big deal about it that I'm starting to feel bad, but those two things just don't interest me at all. Anyone?

Maybe you don't care about that yet because you are still trying to find your vision.... Once you do, you'll start gettign excited for each aspect when it is the right time too.

I really didnt get into the flowers until I went to the florist and all the pieces of my wedding started coming together.

Nope, you aren't alone. FH is the one that picked most of the flowers, I didn't really care.
But when it came to finding the right shoes, etc, I would go crazy!
Some details mean a lot to me, others I could care less. lol

Hi and welcome - i see this is your first post.
In the beginning of planning there were set things I was all about and certain ones i gave a sh!t about!
Example: Flowers, i really didn't care when i first started planning. I think my exact words were 'they effin die anyway so who cares'
Fastforward to now and I have an OBSESSION with my centerpieces and flowers - I am constantly wanted to change things and constantly looking at pictures of different ones, its really bad LOL
I have def evolved through planning - not saying it happens to everyone but there is a good chance it could.

i'm with you. i personally think flowers are a waste. All i wanted was the bouquets for the girls and I. I even said I dont want center pieces, but my mom said I have to hahaha
my cake is real simple too, and i could care less when we go to the bakery to finalize it. it comes in my RH package, and thank goodness cause i wouldn't have wanted to pay extra for it

you're not alone... I really care about my flowers, but could careless about what my cake looks like!
There are a lot of things that need to be perfect and other things that if they look decent, good.

THIS! And i dont really care what my cake looks like. I told my mom i want to tell the baker (who is sooo talented) just my wedding colors and let him design and she started to panic thinking i was making a big mistake. So maybe when i get there i will care more- but as of now i dont have a 'vison' of what i want and i never really care about the cakes at weddings i go to. Oh well....

You are not alone... I just want to get married, I hate that you have to have all these things.... But I admit, once everything comes together, you get more excited about your vision!

you don't have to feel uber excited about everything just yet and maybe you never will. its ok to be more excited about one thing over another.

nope- never really cared about my cake ( still dont) and I while I cared about my flowers to an extent I've never been really worried about it
There are things that i was more picky about, but the cake wasn't one of them

i dont care about cake or flowers either!! yet i call my DJ every other day- depends who you are!. Its your wedding. My cake, if its clean and neat im good, and ill probably decorate it w/ gerbera daisies but other than that i could care less

i still have to do my flowers and have no idea what any names of flowers are, so im hoping i will figure it out when i get to the florist (altho i do have a 'vision') i just am not going nuts

I'm the same way..or I was.
I was pretty much 'whatever' about invitations, flowers, and cake...
and then I fell in love with stuff!
I think it IS totally normal. You don't have to care about everything. Even after looking I still don't give a damn about limos.
If I were paying for my flowers (this is gift from my sister and BIL) I probably would not have even gone crazy. But I did say I didn't care until i saw an amazing centerpiece at a bridal show and HAD to HAVE it.....
You still have a lot of time until the wedding so things can change

Ah, but you can just get married. Having all these things really is a choice.
You know what I mean.... We want to celebrate with our friends and family and it's gotta look complete to an extent.

I am so with you. I literally still do not care about 95% of things, including flowers and what the cake looks like (it better taste good though ) I know decor makes a wedding, and sometimes I wish I cared, but I just don't. I just want to be with my family and friends and thats all I care about these days.
