OK, Im getting married in MArch...so far we have the Hall, The church and the Photographer/Video......Am I waiting too long for dresses, DJ, flowers( we are making our own CP's) Limo's???

Personally, I think everyone is a bit ahead! I am getting married in April 05 and I only have the hall, church, DJ, & photographer.
Yes we visit vendors and see things we like but these arent split second decisions!
This is just my opinion and my experience by the way. I say work at your own pace and dont compare yourself to the progress of others!

DITO... I am getting married in July and only booked the reception hall. I have a lot of magazines and I think happily taking my time. Bottom line is there are plenty of vendors out there wating for us not the other way around. I'm just getting a lot of ideas and when I am ready and have read and viewed enough I will begin planning. However, the only thing I have made a point to do is start putting together an excel spreadheet of all my guests names and addresses and the save the date cards would be my next move. It is probably one of the most labrious tasks but I like to get that done and not have to think about it again unless I decide to add on.

I think you have all of the things that I would have said to get done now. The other things can definitely wait. But I will tell you that I am booked early because of how popular my day is. I called TONS and TONS of vendors who were already booked for my date. But it's a holiday weekend, so that's to be expected. ETA: we also booked so early so that we know NOW how much we need to save for the wedding. We don't want any surprises and don't want to feel pressured to save any money at the last minute.

We have been working slowly because we have such a long time before... We have the hall and church, florist (we heard they book up quickly so we went and did it), we are booking the DJ this week (we personally know the MC and want to guarentee that we get him) and are starting to look at photographers/videographers slowly... There are a lot of them we want to see so we are trying to do about one a week. We are hoping by June to have most of the bigger stuff booked just so that it is a load off our chests. We do know who we're using for the limos but he told us its too early to book and guarentees us the days :)
I am going to start looking for a dress this summer because I am SOOOO incredibly picky. I probably won't order one before the fall... We are planning on deciding on our honeymoon about a year before the wedding because if we do a cruise, it will be much cheaper to book in advance...
I don't think anyone is behind... look at all the people who get engaged and married within 6 months! :)

I think you are doing fine. I only have my Hall and church and am going to start looking at photo/video and DJ soon. You don't want to do everything to soon, as long as you have a plan your fine.

You arent behind -
All i really have booked is teh hall, church, band/dj, photo & video.
We are booking the florist in mid may and i am ordering my dress in mid may - but for other things i know what i want - its just a mater of ordering it -
You have time - but in my opinion you should get the DJ done - you dont wnat to find a DJ you love and then find out that they are booked - everythign else you can do later on.

So far I booked the church and the catering hall. I ordered my favors last week (because I found something I really like) and I am starting my dress shopping this weekend.
I'm going to take my time with the rest of it... I'm having too much fun to get it all done so fast!

We have Reception hall ( ceremony is being held there also ) , Officiant, and Photo and Video done. Florist is coming down to the final decision time so in about a week or so we will pick.

It really depends on the person, I am a MAJOR plan ahead type, so I expect almost everything to be done by Jan/Feb...lol
The only major things I will leave until the end of the year are my dress and BM's dresses, I am losing weight and am giving myself exactly 6 months before the wedding to order it. As for the girls dresses, they want to see what comes out for next spring, they will all probably buy something off the rack, so I'm not too worried.

we are at a tie!!! We booked the church, hall, photographer, and the video in the weeks immediately following our engagement...and have sat on our a**es since! Everyone tells us we need to get moving...we are hoping to get a dj soon... I think we are going to look at high voltage, get in tune(house dj) and tommy tunes...we just keep putting it off!!!
