I've gotten about 16 'No' responses so far and my rsvp date is monday (still missing about 40 rsvp's!) They all gave reasons as to why they couldn't come...graduation, family visiting, can't make the drive from OOT guest, etc. I feel like they are lying and just dont want to come. Am I being paranoid? FH says I'm being crazy, but I don't take rejection well, especially not from 'friends'.

no, i don't think you are overreacting. but 'm sure they have legit reasons as to why they can't come.

Honestly? Some are legit, some just don't want to go. Don't take it personal. I mean, I haven't wanted to go to a lot of things I've been invited to. Sometimes I do, sometimes I lie.

at least they gaved you a reason! We didn't make our min. because of all the no's, and no one even wrote a note as to why they weren't coming. I'm still upset about it, but at this point, it is what it is, and there isn't one thing I can do about it!

Definitely be aware of graduation. My wedding is that Sunday and I have gotten about the same number of 'NO' responses with the reason of graduation. I was a little hurt at first, but hey, less people equals more room on the dance floor!

I was thinking the SAME THING today. I've gotten a lot of no's, many with NO note, and I'm taking it too personally. Really, I don't need to occupy my time trying to figure out why people wouldn't want to come to my wedding -- but that's exactly what I'm finding myself doing.
Trying to let it go. Not worth it.
Still thinking about this. I got a NO with a NOTE from people who are friends of my stepmother. I don't even know these people, but they sent a nice note saying their granddaughter was graduating that day. Meanwhile, today I got a NO from a girl I've known since I was 5 years old, with no note. I'm paranoid too.

same here! i get notes and checks with the 'no's' from FIL's friends that can't come but my so called friends just check off the 'regretfully decline' line without so much as a reason why! whatever, i'm getting married!

I don't think you should be paranoid... I just think June is a very busy month for graduations. Don't worry... the 'yeses' will come rolling in!

I've been feeling the same...most I know are legit, but a few people but notes like 'we'll be out of town that week' (UMMM I sent STD cards 8 months ago)...just makes me upset, but you can't force people to be there...

Be happy that even gave you a reason. I had family say NO without a reason at all and these are people who me and my parents have gone to everything for. I think alot of it has to do with $$$ toay too. I think some of my Dad's family isn't coming b/c they are cheap. Yet it is ok when we have to travel OOT , stay in a hotel and still give a gift. I realize some people just SUCK!!!!
