I went to BBB yesterday to exchange the toasting flutes & cake serving set I've received. They came out with very similar ones that I like even more. When I went to exchange them, the woman told us they were on sale for $5 cheaper each because they are being discontinued. Then she said that unless I had the original print out of the registry, I'd have to pay the $10 difference! I was really upset by this! No one told us that we should keep the original print out, I thought that once things were purchased they were able to keep track of the price they were purchased for. It even showed the changed price on the new print out of the registry!

that is absurd i cant imagine that they cant look it up in the computer when it was purchased or removed from your registry

I sent them a complaint via e-mail and told them unless they plan on correcting the situation I will be taking my registry elsewhere FH doesn't know that part yet, he gets mad when i complain

oh, and on top of that...the girl who rang me up added the new toasting flutes and cake servers to the registry but never marked off that we purchased them, so now it looks like we need them!

I would've done the same thing. Did you ask to speak to a manager? I would have REFUSED to pay the difference. The stupid people should look to see when you registered that way they can see that you added those things prior to the mark-down.

No I didn't, normally I do (and make a scene, I'm jewish, it's in my blood) but FH was feeling sick and had to sit in the car to get some air. I was just trying to rush out of there so I can get him home.

Absolutely not! I thought the point of a computerized registery was so that you didn't need to keep all your receipts to make returns! I'm registered there and no one told me to keep the original print out either! I'd go back and speak to the manager.
