I have gone to 6 band showcases and I have not been too impressed by any of them. I feel that when I see the one I want, I will know right away. Has anyone had this problem with any of their vendor choices? I just feel like so many people are telling me that I am being too picky.

If you don't feel a band, then definitely don't choose them -- be as picky as you need to be -- music is way to important to second guess.
My advice - keep looking unitl you're completely satisfied, you still have lots of time

I dont think you are being too picky. I booked my band because I absolutely loved the female singer. I booked the band and she couldnt make it to my wedding and there was a relacement. Half the band had replacements. I always had that gut feeling so go with your feelings.

No you are not being too picky. The music source makes a huge difference, especially a bad one. Do not settle for something that you will not be happy with - these guys play ALL night - its not a small part of the wedding (IMO anyway)
We didn't like any of the 'showcases' we saw - here are the three bands we did like - Chaser (loved, but not available), The Mystic and Current Affair. We went with Mystic, and can't wait to hear them at the wedding

I also saw many bands before choosing ours...(I think more than 6)...keep looking until you find a group you really like.

I think the band is one of the most important parts of the reception. They make or break the party!! Keep looking you will find the one for you!!
My band was the first decision I made.

I don't think you are being picky at all.. ESP. with music.. music sets the tone for the entire evening....
keep looking girl, oh and also, with all the money that goes into paying for these wedding, you have a right to be picky!

Yeah, I agree! Be picky. Our friends booked a band for their May wedding and raved and raved about them for a year. When we went to the wedding, no one was dancing and we all personally couldn't figure out what they were raving about! The music is very important- so keep searching. The best band I have ever heard was www.moonglowmusic.com they're located out of Boston. I know.....but they travel down here -worth looking into anyway. The woman's voice was amazing and we cut up that rug like never before! People are still talking about my cousins band. Good luck!

Keep looking until you are happy. Dont just settle. We lokked at so many reception halls, that I could tell you the ones we didnt go to. We thought we were picky, but we finally found THE ONE!!!! Dont just settle, when you find the right band...you will know. Good Luck!!!!

This is your night. You can be picky with whatever you want. You have to be happy with your band. You have to listen to them all night and it is what makes the party liven up!!

I must point something out that may help (or may stress you out more!). The absolute best bands don't participate in showcases. They don't need to, they are booked fully based on referrals. At a showcase you can get lucky and find a new band that hasn't yet established itself, but a new band also is more likely to have turnover. In the end, as long as you have time keep looking.

You definitley have a right to be picky. You are paying alot of $$$ for a band and it should be exactly what you want. I saw about 6 bands before I found one I was happy with.

They did my wedding and were wonderful.
Don't settle until you find what you are looking for.

keep looking, this is your wedding, the most special day of your life! You'll know the right band when you hear them, it should hit you when you hear them, keep searching, there's nothing wrong with that!!!
