So I send a reminder e-mail to my bm's about dyeing their shoes to match their gown, which is champagne. And I get 2 responses by disgruntled BM's saying 'oh, really, but you're not even going to see the shoes'. I told them they can wear whatever (open, closed, high, low) I just want the color to match b/c u WILL see the shoes when they walk and in certain pics. oof. I feel better now. Thanks for allowing me to vent!
Update: I think I'm gonna lose it---a bm just e-mailed me that she wanted to wear shoes dyed from a past wedding......... in burgundy!

I am sorry you have to explain yourself to them.
As a side note, my girls would kill me if they had to dye their shoes, so no dyeing for me, you will not see the shoes and if you do, at least they will not clash with the dresses. I told them to get any type of silver sandel or ivory sandel.

For my wedding I told my BMs to wear whatever style they want but I would like for them to wear a dusty rose color to match their dresses. No, it is not about nobody is seeing their shoes it is about you asking for one specific thing. No, you are not being picky at all. They should remember that at times they hold their dresses up just a bit when they are walking and of course people will see the color of the shoes. Please, do not get yourself work up over their pettiness.

The question is, did you tell them this before? If you said that you didn't care what shoes they wore, then they have a right to be annoyed, but if you told them that from the beginning, they shouldn't even question it.

Yeah, I said I didn't care what style, but that the color should match. It's a pain b/c of the color-if the dress were a color that you can go w/black or silver, I really wouldn't care.

Don't worry, 2 of my bm's haven't gone yet. 1 fitting is usually ok i think.

My FSIL took it upon herself to pick out shoe colors and now wveryone else got them to match her and THEY DONT EVEN MATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
