Am I being unreasonable with FH? (guest issue)

FH and I got all our RSVPS back and we were 25 people under the minimum for Russo's- so he suggested that we invite some members of the temple that we belong to. We didn't invite them before because we thought we would have no problems getting our minimum.

I gave FH 10 more invitations (all couples so that's 20 people= 2 more tables of 10 people each) so that we'll probably get 120 people- meaning I don't have to spend more $$ for an additional centerpiece since we have 12 for 12 tables.

He calls me just now while I am super busy at work and tells me he wants to invite more people from the temple- that would mean we need to spend more $$ for another centerpiece!!
I am tapped out financially since I just paid for the florist in full the other day!! This also means we need to pay for more people at Russo's...another cost I can't do atm... our budget is for 125 guests.

Am I being unreasonable telling him no? Also we would have to give Russo's the final count in like 2 weeks from now and I don't want to stress about it.

no, you are not being unreasonable.

he will understand..........from what I gather, you and I are not the only ones with this problem.

well if you only have 120 guests will you get anything back, or anything additional from Russo's? I would probably invite right up to the minimum and suck it up and pay for the extra CP....but only you know what you can really afford!

I agree with this, but that's just me.
Is there any way you can squeeze a few more people at a table? Like add an extra couple at each of the tables from the temple? that way you wouldn't have to add another table/centerpiece but would still be getting your money's worth at Russo's?

We wanted to stick to tables of 10 - also put all the people that come from the temple together since they don't know anyone else but each other and FH and I. Since they all know each other from the temple we felt that was the best way to do the seating arrangements.

Even if we fall short by 5-10 people we would be getting our money's worth at Russo's.. theres no doubt about that. As to what they would throw in I am not sure but I know they would do something to work with us.

FH wanted me to somehow come up with the extra $$ to cover the extra people since his parents are only paying for the first 125 guests- anything after that falls on us...he paid for our DJ and also the limos and also the hotel for the two of us so it's not like he's not paying for anything.

I'm just broke atm because I have to put aside money to pay the rest of my gown which is like $1,000 and also pay for my hair and makeup for the day of...I would have to cut something in order to get the extra centerpiece...if he'd pay for it I'd be fine with things.

I'm acutally happy that we're only 5 people short of our minimum- that's totally okay with me... I know that Russo's would do something for us for not having those 5 people.
