lately I have been feelin like I always wanted a wedding on the water.. and I only looked at 2 places and fell in love.. booked a place.. and never even looked at waterfront venues like i wanted.. Is this bad? I mean I love my hall.. but I always thought I would get married waterfront.. Am I just bein silly?? Did I not check out enough halls???

I think that u went with ur gut which is great. I think now ur thinking with ur head lol.
I dont want to say go look at waterfront venue's because you've already put a deposit down on ur current hall, but if it's always going to be on ur mind and your always going to say 'what if' then MAYBE look at a few others.
I'm not sure though.
Do you have other vendors booked?

yep have everything almost booked.. not florist though.. I know Im not changin my hall.. I just feel maybe I rushed.. didnt really look at alot of halls cause I was afraid if I did my date wouldnt be available at the place I really wanted.. I am glad I booked where I am gettin married .. but everytime I look at places on the water I sigh .. I think I just need to get over that dream, lol

The place you chose is amazing. the service is amazing. think of it this was if you changed your venue or chose another place the service may have ended up being yuck-o. You made the right choice!!!
I woulda booked there at the Inn if my best friend didn't just get married there.

I know.. I am super excited and hear wonderful things about the INN.. I just love it there.. I just think Im feelin a little bad that I didnt just check to see whatelse was really out there..meaning some venues on the water.. But IM happy to hear that the food and service is great at The Inn cause overall that is the most important!!! Just needed to vent a little, lol... THANKS GIRLS!!!

Can you maybe take pictures at the water?? Or have your rehearsal dinner at a restaurant near the water so you have the best of both worlds??

I think you should have looked at more halls, even waterfront ones just to see and be able to make a decision, but if you fell in love with the 2 that you saw and already booked one and are satisfied then I wouldn't loose sleep over it! I'm sure you made the right choice and your wedding will be Beautiful!!!

thx guys.. actually someone helped me before i went lookin and listed all pros and cons about all the reception halls she saw.. that really helped with my decision and saved time for me to look. So all in all I knew the hall I chose had everything I was lookin for for...it just only lacked the water factor.. although ur right, I might just take pics at the beach before so I get that feeling.. whats the closest beach to tkae pics at? anyoe have any ideas what beach is close to NEw Hyde Park?

The closest beach would be Jones... Which is about 1/2 hr drive

I think I was the one who told you all my pros and cons about the 20 places we looked!! Including places on the water (Bridgeview, Waterview Club, Atlantica, Crescent Beach Club, Giorgio's, Old Field Club, Glen Island Harbor Club) and yet, I sometimes have the same exact feelings as you! I always thought we would get married on the water, definitely not at a wedding hall on Jericho Tpk literally around the corner from our apartment, but in all honesty, we wanted a place that specialized in weddings, food and service. And I just feel like the Inn has everything, except the water view!! I don't think we will be disappointed.
As for pictures on the beach, FH and I decided we just don't have time the day of the wedding to be hauling ourselves all over LI taking beach pictures, so, instead, our plan is to take our e-pictures somewhere very scenic and beautiful, and the day of, just make sure all our family shots and photojournalistic shots are taken care of.

I feel the exact same way as you. I feel like we rushed into our decision because we were concerned with not getting a date, and we didn't look into many places. When I visited Floral Terrace I fell in love and actually cancelled some appointments I had afterwards at other halls because I knew it was the one. Sometimes now I wish I didn't cancel those appointments and would have just gone to see the halls. Also, after being on this site for awhile I am seeing so many halls that I didn't know anything about which makes me overthink.

OMG.. yes you helped me.. ur the one!! I felt soo good after your review.. I still know its the perfect place but, ofcoarse the water view just finally caught up to me, lol.. but I know it is the perfect place just need to get those stupid little thoughts out of my head!! lol.. thx so much!:)
