I just wanted the opinions of all you lovely ladies because I need to know if I'm acting out of line or if I'm justified in the way I feel....
Soooo, how would you feel if some of your very close friends decided to go look into booking the catering hall your having your reception at (which has been booked by you for a long time)?
Keep in mind, their wedding date is 4 months before ours. If it was afterwards I wouldn't have cared at all. I'm just a weeeee bit angered by this.

I hear ya. My best friend did this to me at our sweet 16s. she found out where mine was booked and booked it for January (mine was in June). Totally small scale compared to a wedding, but what are you gonna do? I know it’s hard and people should just have common sense and I would be annoyed too, but unfortunately we can’t control others Sorry this is happening to you!

I'm not so sure I would be entirely crazy about the idea but there really would nothing I could do about it. Did they discuss this with you guys beforehand?
Just keep in mind that you're weddings are 2 completely different events, with different ideas, and different guests. In the long run, it's not going to really matter that they had their wedding 4 months before yours at the same place because it's going to be a completely different experience. If anything, I think it may be beneficial to be at a wedding before yours at your venue so you can think of ways to execute things you would like to do or get new ideas for your own wedding.

There will probably be a handful of mutual people at both events but I was just really looking forward to my first experience at this hall being my own wedding. But yea, I understand there's really nothing I can do but sit back and cross my fingers that they decide not to go with this place.
Maybe I wouldn't feel like this if they really LOVED the place but I know they've never even seen pictures of it. They just want to go look because they know we've booked there.

Hm... I'd probably be a little upset by it. Especially since it's not the typical wedding venue... Maybe you should say something to her about it? Are you guys close enough where you can just tell her how you're feeling about this whole thing?

well if that's the case - that's a bit of a peeve. If the only reason they are going there specifically is because they know you booked there already, than that's just ridic.

Crashing here- while I think it's pretty juvenile, use it to your advantage. Go to their wedding and note what you like and don't like, what works and doesn't work. Use their wedding as a 'trial run' for yours!

i would probably be upset by it, but there isn't much you can do about it either. like the OP said, take notes of what you don't like and use it to your advantage!

What?!! Are they serious!! Absolutely not! There's so many places they can have their wedding, they don't have to pick the same place and do it 4 months before. That's very inconsiderate IMO
