Am I crazy? (vent/whine) LONG!

Am I crazy? (vent/whine) LONG!

I feel so lousy right now, I need some objective opinions please!
When we got engaged, FI said he would like a big wedding. I didn't, but agreed to since it was so important to him. Over the past two months I've been working like mad, 70 hours a week, no days off in sight, to pay for my share of the wedding (he will pay for the reception, I will pay for everything else). Fi had the money in the bank, so he doesn't need to bust tail for it like I do.
Now, I understand that this is the arrangement I agreed to, but I am starting to get very resentful. I've given up so much, I have NO life, I am exhausted, stressed, and miserable. He, in the meantime, is living life as usual, going out with his friends, hanging in the hamptons etc. He is in NJ during the week, so all we have is the weekends to see each other. So tonight, when I am actually home and we can spend time together, he goes to a bachelor party (which is a WHOLE other issue in itself). We haven't spent any real time together in about a month.
It's not like I expect him to sit home and do nothing while I am out working a 16 hour shift to pay for the wedding I never wanted, but I can't help but feel a little miffed when he is out having a good time!
Please tell me, am I being too sensitive? Am I just over tired? Am I focusing too much on the negative?
Thanks for listening

I don't think you're being toooo sensitive, although brides tend to get that way Is he helping you out at all with the planning at least? If not, I'd be more than a little p*ssed off at that. Try to stay strong, I completely understand the $$$ issues - I am doing the same thing (although I want everything I have to pay for)

Did you try talking to him and see if maybe you can comprimise in some areas? You can still have an extravagant wedding without spending ridiculous amounts of money.

What you are sayign makes complete sense. Unfortunately, I have no advice for you. Did you try talking to him about all of this?

) I think I'd feel the same way. Have you tried talking to him about it? Maybe he doesn't realize how you feel (What would be obvious to a woman, is not always so obvious to a man )

More to you

Tell him how you feel. Communication is very important & maybe he should help you out a bit more, if possible.

I can see why you would feel resentful. I agree with Jennbaby, communication is SO important in a marriage. It's a good time to start making it a habit. I'd talk to him about your feelings, without accusing him of anything. Maybe he doesn't realize how hard this has been on you.

Good luck!

I totally agree that you should talk to him...being stressed out will have a serious effect on your relationship

I'm not sure I agree with the you pay for this and I'll pay for that...I know many couples do this with their finances- it seems too much like this is mine - that is yours...there is no ours...

DH has and always will make more money than me (lowly teacher's salary for me) - we are a partnership nonetheless...but to me its so much easier to pool money...
