I've had THREE makeup artists (all of whom are highly recommended on here) tell me that they don't travel to Westchester. It's New Rochelle people, not Rochester! I think it's time for me to learn how to airbrush myself because it's the only way I'm going to get my makeup done

No, I haven't been there--I don't have too much experience with New Rochelle besides going to Glen Island and my florist. But FH were planning to go up on Sunday and check out hotels and scout out some potential RD locations so maybe I'll have a chance to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!

Well girls, it works for the other end of LI, as well. I live on the North Fork and a lot don't want to come out here, either!

Why don't you check out some makeup people from theknot.. some of them will go to westchester.. but they might be $$$

I am also getting married in New Rochelle but I live in Whitestone Queens. Our church is about 20 minutes away from my house and the hall is 12 miles away. Not too bad. I am more nervous about finding someone due to the holiday weekend.

Perhaps one day you can go to The Westchester to the makeup counters in the dept stores in the mall and tell them you are looking for a makeup artist to come to you. I assume you're getting ready in Westchester?
If you live on LI you can even find out if there's anyone at the dept stores in Roosevelt Field will drive up there. But you might get better results asking people that already live in Westchester.
Also put a request in Vendors Helping Brides!

There is a website called Westchesterweddings.com or something similiar..they have vendors listed on it.

Thanks! I actually went to that website and found a makeup artist. Bad thing is that she's located in Milford, CT so now I'm driving 1.5 hours (probably closer to 2 hours) for a makeup trial this week

By the way my cousin got married at your hall last May and it was beautiful. They had this chocolate souffle for dessert that everyone is still talking about!
Do you have a photographer yet? And are they from westchester?
