Am I just being paranoid or does this seem strange???

Alright well FI and I rent a house and the landlord(Gary) lives in the front we live in the back. Gary also has his buisiness office in front. Well, he usually stays here about 6 nights a week. And if he every goes away for more then a day he'll call us and say we can use the driveway and ask us to get his mail. He has done this several times. Here's the thing... Thursday I got a package for him and I put it outside of his door, it's still there and all the mail is still in the mailbox Now normally (if it was another person) I wouldn't have a second thought, but since every time he goes away he calls it just seems strange. Also like I said his work is here so again it's odd that he hasen't been here. It's not just the package thaT gave it away either we can hear when he comes home because the garage door makes ton's of noise. I called his # and left a message saying' that I didn't mean to pry ,but we haven't seen you in a few days and wanted to make sure everything was OK' Do you guys think I'm just being paranoid or does that seem a little odd to you as well.

It definately seems REALLY odd, especially if he usually calls you when he's going away. I hope he's okay!

I would also be concerned, especially since he always calls. I hope everything is okay with him.

It seems odd. I think you're right to be concerned. If there's nothing wrong, I'm sure he'll appreciate the concern.

How long has he been away for?

Well it may be longer but we put the package on his stoop on Thursday so at least since then.

It does seem weird, but perhaps he was just rushed before he left or you guys were out and he didn't have a chance to see you. You did the right thing though by leaving a message and such. I hope he's okay.

I would have done the same thing by calling - it sounds like its out of character to just leave and not tell you. I don't think your being paranoid at all.

Does he have a cell phone you can try instead of his house phone?

I don't have it on me, but I know he checks his messages on his home/office machine.

OK so Gary called me back. And said that he was taking his daughter to look at colleges and it was taking longer then he thought it would. So needless to say I feel stupid!!! But he said he was happy that I was keeping my eye on the place and he appreciated the concern. I just thought I would let you guys know.
