So, my FH and I got engaged on Christmas Eve and i've been in wedding-planning-madness mode ever since then! I never thought I would get so into all of this but i'm finding it to be a blast. I already found my dress at Pronovias and put down a down-payment....am I jumping the gun?!

not at all , the only thing is that since we do have some time next seasons dresses will be coming out in a few months. so if they haven't officially ordered it yet you may wan to hold off just in case.

Not at all! I got engaged last Christmas eve, and I booked the hall 2 weeks later, and went dress shopping about 2 weeks later also. I put a down a deposit on my dress which was at the 2nd place I went to about 3 weeks later. I would say that you are right on schedule! Do you have a pic of the dress in your album?

I agree with the other ladies, you're not nuts!! It's nice to get everything done fairly soon after you get engaged, then you don't have to worry about things at the last minute and it gives you time to see if you've missed anything!

Not at all, you sound like me. I put a deposit on my dress 4 weeks after getting engaged (July 2008), and I started planning an e-party fo rthat November. I still love my dress and time as been flying by 39 days. edit Ihave 38 days and I will be married not 39

Not at all. I originally planed my wedding back in 2004 and 2005 nd I thought it was crazy then but now it is 10X worse. I'm getting married a week after you and I've already found that so many vendors are really booked for 2011. Starting early means you'll get to choose what you want and it'll save stress you'd have later.

As long as you're sure, you should be fine. But you better not look at any more wedding dresses for the next 18 mos! If you can handle that, you're good. I've seen WAY to many brides on the 2010 board (and others) second guess themselves and wind up with a different dress a year later.
