Am I nuts..

Am I nuts..

Well for a week I have been breaking out in hives/red itchy rash. It comes and goes and isn't in one particular area. One day it is on my leg and the next it is on my stomach. I have been very anxious for a few months; I thought my new birth control might be adding to the problem. Can my anxiety be causing this? I have never had hives when I was younger... I feel like I am nuts!

Don't mean to scare you but about a year ago I had these craaaaazy hives as well.. and it ended up being bedbugs! I was so grossed outtt!!!!!
I went to doctor and everything and they kept saying it was a dust allergy.. I was on medicine but it wouldnt go away.. and then a friend at work suggested it might be that and I looked and it was!

Dunno where I got them from at the time but SOOO happy they're gone!
Grosssssest thing I have ever and ever wish to experience in my life!

I just looked it up; mine don't look like bites because one hour the hive is there and the next it isn't. I think the bite/red spot would stay in that one area. :( maybe it would be better if it were bed bugs because then I could fix it asap.

OMG!! Our friend had bedbugs...they are small tiny prick mark like right? If its a bigger type rash probably not then..

We had bedbugs at our house too!! Brought them back from our suitcases after we traveled - OMG IT WAS SO GROSS!!!!! From now on they stay outside for at least 2 weeks before we bring them in.

it definitely could be anxiety, you should go to a dermatologist

It's prob from stress. This happened to me once too when I used a different soap

No! I had this for MONTHS. I was living on benedryl basically which was tough because it'd make me exhausted. When I finally went to an allergist, he said my skin cells could allergic to eachother and essentially 'exploding'. So weird! He basically gave me the name of something that meant 'hives without a known cause'. He had sent me for bloodwork but I never went because my insurance wasn't so hot. He gave me a prescription for a stronger antihistamine that wouldn't make me so tired and that helped. I feel like they just stopped slowly but it lasted a good 4-5 months before they just randomly stopped. Every once in a while I'll get one here or there. I'd suggest going to an allergist. I have this guy my family has been using for years, I don't know where you're located but he's in Holbrook. Let me know if you want his info!

I'm happy to see I am not alone. Yesterday I cleaned my room from top to bottom, vacuumed my mattress, washed all of my clothes and sheets in free and clear detergent, .... I was fine for the entire day until 10pm when I got a few hives. EHHhh...

Week 2...hives
I went to an allergist she said it could be from the antibiotic I was given for my recent UTI. I just can't deal with this because it is causing me so much stress.

Ugh! I hope you feel better soon! Stress can just cause more hives though so just keep taking antihistamines and try to feel better!

Thanks!!! I feel like I have officially went nuts. People look at me like I am crazy because the hives just appear out of nowhere. The stress isn't helping the situation but I can't stand months of this.

how have you been feeling? r u still breaking out?

Re: Am I nuts..

Still breaking out at least once a day. I think I am so anxious about breaking out that I might be causing it. It kills me when a doctor is like 'it can take weeks to months to years to go away'. Today I am going to try to stay as stress free as possible, take vitamins, eat only whole foods, and work out. I hope this is my first hive free day.
