sometimes i wonder what was the point of mailing invitations for my engagement party bc noone is following them! many have not called to rsvp and now a friend who wasnt invited with a guest bc shes single and is now telling me oh i may bring a guest then my fh's friend tells my fh that 'all 3 of us are coming.' Meanwhile, his daugher wasnt invited! am i overreacting for gettting mad?? we invited 125 and the room fits 125 so im getting nervous bc i only know of 2 people that arent going so far.

Relax, it happens all the time. It happened to me too...When is the rsvp date? Wait until then and then you are going to have to start calling because you don't want to not count anyone in and then they will show up. For the one that wasn't invited and it does get to the point where you cant fit any more people...just explain to them the situation and say im sorry you can't bring them. Don't worry, it will all work out...just enjoy your engagement =)

I think some people just get the wrong impression of what an engagement party is! If you are having a formal enough affair to send out invitations, there are unwritten rules that should not be broken!!! I don't think you are overreacting - I'd be feeling the same way I'm sure

thanks girls! it is reallly frustrating, im just trying to stay as excited as i was and not get stressed but its very difficult sometimes! lol.

Nope! Its ok.... Try to relax. The same thing happened to me with my E-Party. I even had some people RSVP and then NOT show day of..... like 10 people! I was pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway... just let them know that there is no room for their added guests... in a nice way though.

aw thanks for ur help. i want to say soemthing but my fh is like my friend has to bring his daughter, etc etc! im like no he doesnt! ahhh. lol. i actually am hoping like 10 dont show up!

Are there going to be any other kids there? B/c you could use that as an excuse as well... Say thats she will be the only kid and she will be bored. hahaha... Thats what I did!

i wish i could say that but im having my nieces, my fh's nieces and our younger cousins! but i was only inviting kids that were in our immediate family.
