Am I overreacting???? UPDATED

My favors arrived yesterday...I purchased them from a vendor on Ebay. They are a set of 4 glass coasters that spell out 'LOVE'. They came in a clear gift box and an organza bow (which looks beautiful). HOWEVER, the tag was supposed to be personalized: our choice of colors and design with our names and wedding date. They arrived with the correct color tags, but instead of our names it simply says 'Thank You'. Im pi$$ed and emailed the vendor to complain. (no response yet).
My FH and dad think I am overreacting. they think that they look great the way they are....and if the vendor does send me the correct tags, I am going to have to undo the bows to tie take off the old tag and tie on the new one. He thinks I'll ruin the bow...and hell, its 100 favors to do it to. FH says people are going to use the coasters...its a functional favor so they are going to remove the tags anyway.

What do you ladies think? Should I leave it as is....or change them (assuming she even sends me them)?

TIA

UPDATE: VENDOR ADMITTED TO ERROR AND WILL HAVE CORRECTED TAGS SENT. NOW...DO I CHANGE THEM? WILL I RUIN THE BOWS?
Kissy you were right!!!! The personalized tags are coming in a seperate shipment and they will have cotton strings to tie them on. This is something you think they could have at least told me in advance so I wouldn't freak out like I did.

Don't get upset until you hear back from the vendor! I ordered something similiar for my MOH's bridal shower & when I first got the items, they had the same Thank You tag attached when I ordered the personalized ones! I contacted the vendor & they told me the personalized tags get shipped via USPS & you have attach them yourself! Sure enough, a week later, I had the proper tags!

You don't have to undo the bow either to get the tags attached...They come with little rubberband ties that you can tie onto the bow (that is what I did)

I am inclined to say leave it, however, I KNOW it would bother me, and I would change it..... sorry, I am no help...

Yea you have lots of time to untie the bows and put the new tags on. If she's willing to send them, i'd change them!

If mine come with little rubberbands, that might work. I just never assume anything will be easy. I just dont want to ruin how they look. If I do change them and they look sloppy I know I am gonna hear 'I told you so'.

I know what you mean! I freaked when mine came that way, but then when I got the tags, it all worked out! The rubberbands came in handy...FM if you like the vendor & then I can tell you if it is the same one I used, then at least you will know!

I would wait a bit longer and give them a chance to answer.

But I know what you mean. It's a bit upsetting!

When you get the tags, test on a couple to see if it ruins the bow. Maybe there is a way to attach them without untying? Glad to hear they admitted their error and are rectifying.

Good luck!

Re: Am I overreacting????

I would cut the old tags, and for the new ones I would needle it into the bows with a thread and small needle point to tie the new tags.

Instead of un-doing the bow, can you cut the wrong one off and some how slip the new one under the bow?
I dont think I would un-tie it. It might not look as nice. JMO

Re: Am I overreacting????

Okay...so maybe I don't have to untie the bow. I guess I'll have to see what I can do---I really would like to leave the bow intact. I probably can snip the old one off easily.

So now I have a few ideas about getting the new one on....small rubberbands, needlepoint through the bow.

Okay...you ladies have totally calmed me down. I'm still upset that I paid someone else to do this and now I have to worry about it...but I least I did this over 4 months before the wedding...so I have time to correct this. If anyone has any other ideas for attaching the new tags without opening the bow---please share.

Thanks everyone--as always!

Can you mail them back to the vendor and have them put the correct bows on?

Re: Am I overreacting????

Tam,
Keep the labels that they send you intact. Don't sweat it that they don't say your names.. everyone knows whose wedding they are at and they will untie the ribbon and use the coasters. Take the additional labels and do another favor. If you already have Jordan Almonds, grab some tulle circles from cudge.net (cheap) and some ribbons and put them together and then you get another favor. Put one on each plate or do a nice little platter on each table... or put them out by the placecards??? What do you think?

Thanks Sam...that is definitely another option.

You ladies are wonderful! Thank you.

As one bride to another, i would be pissed because it is MY detail. But someone once told me... remember if details are not exactly how you wanted it NO ONE else will notice or know the difference!

Hopefully they send the correct tags, if not.. remember this is so minute compared to the big picture!

Good Luck
