I am getting married oct 2010 and I feel that alot of people already have all there vendors or at least half of them booked already...... Am I really far behind? should i put some fire up my FH's ***??

u have ur hall and that's the most important. Church is next, then i'd do photographer or DJ.

Don't worry i'm with you on this one. I feel like all the girls here are so ahead of me. I only booked the venue and a DJ and my wedding is also in 2010.

Same here. I've booked the RH and I recently booked the Church. I know what DJ and Photograher I want. My friend got married in Feb of 08 and I am using the ones she used and am getting a discount, but she told me to wait until Nov to book because the way the economy is you never know if some of these places close down without giving you notice and run with your money! I really want to book now but I kinda see where she's coming from.

You should have your hall and chruch booked as soon as you can , then i would start looking for a dress you dont need FH for that then phot/viedo, DJ Dont worry it will all come together

seriously, dont worry. u have plenty of time to do everything and enjoy while ur doing it. my wedding is exactly a year away and all I dont have a lot of stuff yet. research for now, know ur prospective vendors and pricing. and like Adriana said, next should be a photog and DJ.

your not far behind AT ALL!! you haven't even reached your year mark so don't get too worried...i joined the knot (theknot.com) and they give an extensive timeline that i use and find very helpful

Some of us have been on here for over a year now (myself) and had things planned very early on, don't let us dictate how you should have things done

No need to freak out! I'd probably be in the same shape as you, I got lucky. I used the same photographer as my cousin ( I was her MOH) so I didn't have to shop for that. & My uncle gave me his Mansion In Muttontown so I didn't have to look for a hall. Everything else just fell into place. You'll be fine. No need to stress.

I am planning on July 2010 and I have nothing booked, I think it is fine. I am very type A about most of life but, I do not want to make myself choose things bc I feel rused.

no dont worry you still have time. a lot of us have been engaged for a while so that is why we have a lot of stuff booked. i got engaged in april 2008 so in the meantime i booked all my major vendors but i wouldn't worry!

Don't worry, you really have plenty of time. I only have a 9 month engagement( got engaged December getting married in September) and have had no problems!

Dont worry!! Im getting married next July and still have a bunch of stuff to do. As long as you get RH and church (if your getting married at one) your fine. The rest falls into place.

You have plenty of time all i have is my reception hall and church booked. Currently choosing a color scheme and hopefully going to register within the next few weeks and then work on vendors.
