I don't think so... take your time in looking and give yourself enough time so you can do that. I am sure you will find something beautiful as well!!!! I started looking as soon as I could.. just becuase I knew it would take me some time!!!

I think that is too early!

I got mine in August and I am getting married in April.. I think even if you started looking a year ahead of time that is too early- also- Oct is when all the new collections come out-- after Oct 05 is prob a great time to start looking!

If you know what you want - it's never too early - it's just one thing out of the way... I'm a 10/06 lady myself and I ordered a dress at Macy's a few months ago! My mom cried when I put it on and my MOH too was thrilled and agreed that it was the one.

Basically, you have some extra options if you are earlier - my dress is not going to just be a size 6 that's 'fixed up', it's going to be more custom designed to my shape so I won't lose the detail at the bottom (I'm pretty short), but with the 'stress' of dress hunting out of the way - I'm going for my hallow hem fitting in April or May after I buy the shoes.

I always knew exactly what I wanted - Halter neckline and an A-line bottom... I tried on a bunch of dresses (for fun and ideas) and I accidentally fell in love with the one I'm ordering. Some people are afraid if they order a dress they may find something else they like better. I know that this is 'MY' dress, you just know when it 's the one, kind of like with DH, you just know when you've found 'the one'.

You do have plenty of time, but I'm going to sum up a quick true story...

I went to check out a dress store back in August. There was a lady there that was asking me why I was shopping so early or waiting so 'long' to get married b/c her daughter got engaged last February (this was August) and was getting married in Novemeber... well, when her daughter came out in her beautiful dress, the look on her face was anything but beautiful. This kid looked MISERABLE. She was mouthing off to her mother and clearly stressed out making nasty comments about all the prep she has to do for her wedding. It was a wake up call for me. That's when I decided it's never too early. Also, dresses do get discontinued. Check out bridal magazines and theknot.com has some good searches for dresses - that's how I found mine. As you're probably seeing from this site - there's A LOT of prep that goes into a wedding, one less thing to worry about is always a good thing. You are going to have a lot of decisions to make between now and the date of your wedding and I'm sure your wedding is not the only thing going on in your life.

So, get to shopping and HAVE FUN! That's the best part!
