Am I the only bride..

Who does NOT want to spend 5,000 dollars on photography? Isn't that ridiculous! sheesh!

yes, photography prices are ridiculous! I am spending 3K on mine and still think its too much..

You can definitely spend less than $5k on photos! We did and that's including 2 photogs and albums and the whole nine yards. Check out Duet!!!

i'm with you .... we actually booked with one of my mom's friends (he does wedding photography for a living) ... his website is AWFUL though so it doesn't do him any justice. It's As You Wish Photography.

ETA: getting 2 photographers for the full day, and a CD with all of pictures (no albums though) for about $1000 (my mom's paying so i'm not sure exactly what it is ... but it's around that)

My budget was $1500 we ended spending $4700. I know its redic but I love photography.

It depends. Some girls have one thing they splurge on, and photography tends to be the splurge, because it's the one thing that will last long after the party is over.

$5K is high, but it also depends on what's included in your package AND who the photographer is. Does that also include video?

What's your roundabout budget for photo? We can make suggestions!

We spent closer to $2k on photos than $5k. I think our package was $2100 but that was also with a little negotiating and getting last year's rates with our photographer. We were extremely pleased!

do you want video too? I know Thomas Paul is $3500 without video. he has a nice package.

I am looking for someone that can do 10 hours of footage (or at least 8 hours), 2 photographers, and ownership to all pictures. All pictures on a hi resolution CD, and at least 2 flush albums or magazine style.

I want to be able to print on my own any of the pictures I want in the future.

I used Brian Calabrese and he was wonderful. He brought along Joe Sanfilippo as his second photographer who was also fabulous. Two professional photographers the whole day. We also received our photos on both high resolution and low resolution DVD and the rights to reproduce them.

We only went with one album with our package, but I made albums for my parents (one early example is in my album -- the rest I've made are a lot better but I don't have them to show you right now).

He also did epics and an epics album as part of our package. You may be able to negotiate swapping epics for another album, but honestly, doing ephotos is such a great way to get to know your photographer and feel comfortable in front of him so on your wedding day the photos come out even better!

I thought photos was one of the most important things to me but i too didnt want to spend 5k. We are spending 2500 and getting 2 phtotgraphers for 10 or 12 hours ( not sure which). I didnt get albums though. I figured I could get that later

I'm spending about $4k for photo and video with patken. If I only wanted photo, it would have been $2500. Not too bad right?

um yes. NY stuff is so overpriced. i will never get used to it.

we won our photography package at TWOTY so that covers our ceremony day in october and then we're paying $600 to my best friend's husband for our reception coverage in michigan.
