Am I the only one?

Am I the only one?

So after you make appointments and meet various vendors I think it's nice that they send you something in the mail to acknowledge your visit. Even though they send everyone the same generic statement, I still think it's nice to get something.
But why is it that I end up getting two pieces of mail from the same place on the same day with the same exact statement on it with the exact same signature from the person I met with?!?!?
I just feel like they should keep better records of what they're sending out and printing and should double check their work!
I can't imagine I'm the only one that this happens to, but I feel like I get double of everything! And this has happened twice this week!
But really, if these places aren't conscious of sending something out in the mail, am I really supposed to feel confident in the work they're going to do the day of my wedding?! Like I was part of a mass mailing to begin with and then I'll just be another name in their date book when it actually comes to my wedding day?
Sorry, it's just my opinion, but I think getting the double mail twice in one week really set me off!

I totally agree w/ you. I love personal attention, and I actually cancelled an appointment w/ a RH b/c when they called to confirm, they left my message, w/ another 's name, when I called to speak w/ the manager to explain why I was cancelling, his responce was ,' Do you know how many brides we call mistakes happen'. My responce was. Well with my wedding I don't want any mistakes & I'm in the business & I've never done that

Thank you! So basically I feel like calling them up and letting them know what happened and basically tell them that the reason I'm NOT going to hire them is because of that and that I would suggest them changing their procedure as to not lose future business!
Thanks, ladies!

I think that's a good move... however the man the reception place didn't care. when I told him I was in the business & I never did that he basically told me that these things happen & I should be more understanding

I agree with you-I get cards from a band just about every week for myself and its always TWO of them.
Though I think that if thats your reasoning for not hiring them you are going to have a hard time with some vendors.
Yes it is nice to get little notes from them acknowledging you were there-but if a company does great work why not hire them?

I agree with you that I would have problems with certain vendors. But basically by that happening shows me that they don't pay attention to detail. So what else would they leave out on the day of my wedding? I know it's a judgement based on one thing, but still. In my mind, I have to walk away feeling confident that they are going to do the job they are promising to do if I chose to hire them. If they can't even send out a thank you letter by keeping tabs of whether they printed, signed, and addressed and are sending the same one out already, what else are they going to overlook? Plus, the letters weren't even remotely folded 1 correctly, or 2 neatly. They just looked stuffed and sealed.
No one's perfect by any means, but if they are in a business and want to stay a business, I would think that they would want to double check their work. We as consumers don't owe anything to them.
It's just like a job interview-- we go to meet with people to hire them to do part of a job that makes up our big day. If you went into an interview because you were looking for a job and afterwards you send a thank you letter to the person you met with, you would never send a letter with grammatical errors, or send it more than once and fold the letter into the envelope incorrectly, would you? Because then what's that person's incentive to hire you?
I'm not saying that they do bad work, because I know they don't. It was a turn off and now I don't feel confident that their work will meet the expectations promised. Again, it's a judgment based on one thing, but to me, it over shadows the positive feelings I had to begin with.

No I wouldnt send a letter with grammatical errors, etc. to someone-im just saying that it does happen. I never said you said they did bad work at all. If you feel that strongly about it then dont hire them. I was saying that I would not judge my opinion on a letter being sent more then once-I get that every week! Is it going to stop me from hiring them, not unless it bothers me to a point where I can see them screwing up my day. If it makes you nervous and worried about your day thats a whole different thing in and of itself.
And as consumers no we dont owe them anything-but they only owe us their services, they dont owe us letters and what not

ETA:If they do great work then they must be doing something right as a vendor.
