Am I the only one that feels

fat in their wedding dress?

I tried on so many and they all look so beautiful in the pics. I go and try them on and I look awful in all of them. Its getting me down. I have a dress but I don't love it...mainly b/c its not what I pictured myself in for my wedding. I wanted a puffy a line BUT i tried those on but I just look so huge in those dresses.

UGH!!!

I mean this in the nicest way.. but are you unahppy with ur dress or ur body? Maybe you could try some exercises that would slim your mid section..which would really help with an A-line dress.. I am in the process of trying to do this. I have an ab video (25 mins) which I do every morning. It was voted best ab-cardio workout by Self Magazine.. it's the CRUNCH GYM Cardio Ab Attack.. and it's kind of ( i emphasize.. kind of) Fun :) Maybe try it?

Regardless, I'm sure you look beautiful and that you're just being hard on yourself.. however, I do think that if you're unhappy with ur dress u should change.. this is YOUR DAY!!

Maybe you haven't found the right dress yet?? Even if you thought it was the one... maybe it just isnt?!

It is tough to try on dresses because they only come in sample sizes-- did you try going to David's Bridal where they have all different sizes to try on? Or maybe try dresses with corset backs so that you can lace them up even if they're too small and try to get an idea of what it will look like when it fits.

Whether the dress is too big or too small it is hard to picture what it will look like when it's YOUR dress and it fits you right--

If your wedding isnt until October you have a ton of time to shed some pounds!

Good luck and I'm sure you're going to look beautiful!!!

I don't think I'm overweight but I happen to feel fat every time I try on a dress. I know it sounds crazy, but I just don't look like the girls wearing the bridal gowns and it looks so different on me.

I think that perhaps I don't have the right dress. I'm going to keep looking but its just depressing trying on these dresses.

I'm hitting the gym everyday, but I need to work harder.

Thank you for your encouragement. If any one has any tips on how to lose weight and see results within 2 months please let me know how!

Re: Am I the only one that feels

I'm a size 12 (down from a 16/18 just a few years ago). I am 5'4' and weigh 155 lbs and know I'm a little chunkier than I'd like to be... but when I put on my dress, I feel unbelievably gorgeous.

I realize I'm thicker than most, and my arms are a little flabby, but i completely feel like a princess in my dress and absolutely love everything about it.

I thought about maybe getting a bolero to cover the arm flab, but our wedding is in July and it's a silly idea to do that. Every time I think about our day, I smile and become so happy and excited that I'm not worried one little bit about the shape of my body on our wedding day.

I feel really lucky. Would I like to be a size 2 (or even a size 10)? Sure. But this is what I am right now, and I can continue to change my body in the future.

I hope that you are able to get to where I am as far as the way you look. You have to be happy with yourself and not worry about people judging you. It's not easy. I still get really insecure sometimes (it's hard not to when your whole life you've been 'that fat girl'... which, ironically is what my ex from h.s.'s parents used to call me in chinese... 'fat white girl').

I hope you find a dress and a mindset that gets you out of the 'fat funk' !!
