My buildings heat is pretty intense, plus we are on the top floor so we are nice and toasty to say the least.
Even last night when the temp was under 10 degrees we had windows open in every room and were completely comfortable!

We're on the first floor and we have to sleep with our windows open every night, too. I can't imagine what it's like on the floors above us. Seems such a waste to pump out so much heat!

We even have some of the radiators turned off and if the windows weren't closed it would be 85 degrees...no joke!

Be careful w/turning off the radiators. Our first apt. we had was in a pre-war building. Our super told us not to turn them off as it isn't good for the heating systyem, so check w/you super about this. I believe it is ok to lower them.
I loved being able to have the window open a bit and still be toasty warm.

Because you will have the old ladies in the building who will always complain there isn't enough heat... when its like 80 degrees in their apartment. Grrrrr.
And because of them... Not only do I have to keep my windows open all the time... in my bedroom I even have one of those window fans that blows the artic air into my room. Now that feels good.

Thanks for the heads up but my super is the one who shut them off. Some of them shut off completely some just get warm still and no heat comes out. I had to leave some of the on or I would think we would freeze!

Yep we keep the windows open. At our co-op meeting some old lady was like 'Turn the heat up, it's freezing' There was a big shout of 'NO!' from everyone else. It was pretty funny and she shut up after that!

Until recently, like 2 weeks ago, DH and I would have to turn on the A/C b/c the heat in the apt was unbearable. We live in the back part of an apt. building and we are parallel to the other side of our building, so we do not get much of anything when we open our windows!
