When I stepped on the scale at Christmas, I was horrified to see that I weighed more than I ever have IN MY WHOLE LIFE. That day, I started eating better, and four weeks later I signed up with a personal trainer at the gym.
Well, since then, I've lost 8 pounds total, but over 2% body fat (meaning I actually GAINED a few pounds of muscle, so I lost more than 8 lbs. of fat). Lost almost 2 inches from my waist and one from my bust and hips. Still... I'm not where I was when I bought my gown a year ago, and not in the 'bikini-ready' shape for Hawaii I'd like to be. Fine. I have 3 months.
So... I found a pic of myself from Christmas, taken at the worst angle, making me look like I'm 3 feet wide and have 4 chins... and I made it the desktop pic on my computer. I CRINGE every time I see it. Do you think this will be motivational, or just make me feel like doo-doo every time I open up my laptop?

Re: Am I too mean to myself?
Oh gosh I'd get soooo depressed! Instead, I'd put a pic of some girl who's body I'd like to have as a more positive motivation.

Re: Am I too mean to myself?
I did the same thing....i put one of my before pics on my fridge and one on my at home treadmill (i lost about 50 lbs so far and want to continue losing more). It has helped me so much in my moments of weakness. Just revert back to it when you're ready to eat everything in sight. HTH and stop being so hard for yourself...you're beautiful and doing a great job!

See, that's what I was thinking. Maybe I should put a pic of myself all toned and skinny from 2 years ago, as motivation.
I honestly don't know which picture would make me feel worse.
But I need to feel worse because I can't stop snacking!

That's an awesome idea- but I would be afraid other people would see it!

Personally it didn't work for me, I've tried putting a pic of me in my dress that is SOOOO not flattering to my arms, and yet I only get upset when I look at it and go to eat instead of going to exercise.
