Am I Wrong?

Am I Wrong?

Ok, so one of my friends is getting married in October and I am in her bridal party. She is going with another bridesmaid to try on dresses Friday and I cannot go (I am going to the city to get by bridal gown). When she was sending me pictures of the dresses she likes I noticed that many, many of them have extremely low, plunging backs...Now, I am WELL endowed (34D) and I MUST wear some sort of normal strapless bra or else the girls go flying and I am extremely uncomfortable...Anyway, she is sort of giving me an attitude about it...I apologized for being annoying and pressing the issue, but she has little boobies and cannot possibly understand what it is like...she was like, 'I will try my best' don't try, just pick a damn dress with a normal back....Am I being a Bridesmaidizzela??

ehhhhhhhhhhhh - I think, unfortunately, it goes with the bridesmaid territory.

We all have worn unflattering bridesmaid dresses in our day.

Maybe you can get cups sewn into the dress and stick em in really well?

with the dif bras available there may be a solution. there are bras that go around the neck or around each arm but not the back. it forms like a bra hammock. there is also the sicky bra but wow does that hurt coming off. good luck and no you are not being a bridesmaidzilla

ETA: I'm a 36DD or 36E depending on cut. I had to wear a low backless dress a couple years ago. I feel your pain lterally it hurts when the girls aren't secured properly for dancing

Unfortunately, you and I share a bra size. So I empathize....

I'm just saying though...ultimately it's up to the bride...

I had a wedding dress that was a low back and I had to have cups sewn in and I was at least a D at the time, but my girls looked great!

I'm really sensitive about BM's feeling comfortable in what they wear even though it's for MY wedding. Hence, I selected about 7 different dresses that I like and thought would accomodate their shapes. It was their decision to pick the one they liked best after trying them on.

I had an issue with my cousin as well - I was her MOH. She was understanding. Ultimately she let me decide what I wanted to wear with her approval of course. I too am a 34DD. I feel your pain.

Okay, considering I personally am a 32 DD - E, I totally understand your pain. Can you even wear one of those low line bras? The ones with the back closure but it is low? I know it is even hard to find one of those in our size.

I do think that the bride should be a bit sensitive to your feelings. I know I wanted my girls to be comfortable and we picked out their dresses together and it was a mutual decision.

Good luck....

I do not think that you are wrong
i think that it is unfair of brides to pick one dress for MANY body types - i would think that she would want u to be comfortable as well

she can choose whatever dress she wants her girls to wear but also has to realize that not everyone will look the way she envisions them to look. Therefore, try to get the same dress but in a diff style (if they have it) or alter the one she gets.

you can even suggest going with her to show her, and prove to her, it's a bad idea for you....but unfortunately...the decision is ultimately hers.

You're not wrong but it may be a good idea to get the dress she wants and ask if they can adjust the dress to cover you bra for support. Maybe she'll agree to this.

No, you aren't wrong to mention something, it's a legitimate concern. It's not like you are just criticizing the dress because you don't like it, you aren't sure how it will work with you.

Are you close with the other girl that is shopping with your friend this week? Can you express your concern to her so she's aware of it when trying on dresses?

I took 2 of my girls shopping with me, a well endowed friend and my 15 year old cousin. I had no restrictions really other than the dress be the same material by the same person. They ended up deciding on the same dress. It wasn't my first choice but, I wanted them to be comfortable.

nope - i have the same problem as you - maybe you can convince your friend to go back with you so she can see how it looks - maybe when she sees it on you she will realize how umcomfortable you would be - or - the neckline may not be as low as it seems - so it could be a win-win for both
good luck

I think when your a bm you have to just suck it up and deal with whatever makes the bride happy. I think we all have worn that bm dress that made us miserable, but that's what we do for friends.
