Am i wrong

Am i wrong

Ok, so i want to go check out some BM dresses this weekend. I figured i would go with my sisters to get an idea, narrow things down, and then go again with other members of the BP.... well FH gets mad at me at why i do not involve his sister.

I dunno, but i kinda want to do things with my sisters, b/c it is a bonding experience plus one of my sisters is the MOH, so regardless the MOH is suppose to come with you for ur first look at dresses

It is not that i do not want to involve his sister, it is just that i dunno.......

I don't think you are wrong at all! Have you explained the bonding thing to FH? You can also tell them that having too many girls there to look at BM dresses is never a good idea .. too many opinions! good luck!

you aren't wrong seems like he is being a bit sensitive and defensive because that is his sister and he doesnt know your reasoning- sometimes it is easier to decide on things with less people involved at first- don't worry about it just have her included on the next outing

I went looking first with my mom and sister (MOH). As soon as I found dresses I liked, I would e-mail them to the rest of the BP (including FSIL) and ask them when they wanted to come look at them. I was never able to get all 6 of them together at the same time, but each of them was able to go see the dress in person before we ordered them. As long as you keep her in the loop and don't just spring it on her when you've picked a dress, I'm sure she will be happy. She doesn't necessarily have to go shopping with you every time you go.

I did the same thing. I felt bad at first b/c I know I've been shopping with all BM for the weddings I've been in. But I thought it was better to go with just my sister first to see what she liked and felt comfortable in b/c she a little bit on the heavier side. I emailed my other BM, my cousin and FSIL, and told them I was going with my sister first, would narrow it down to a few and then bring everyone back. They were all fine with it, including FH. So you are not wrong! They will still get the experience and be involved when you go back to make a final decision.

It's not wrong at all. I went with my sisiter for her dresses and we narrowded it down and then brought the other girls. It was no big deal to any of them. They were actually glad they didn't have to try them all on.

I took my sister and my FSIL (on different days). Maybe go with your sister first, narrow the options, then go with your FSIL?

Re: Am i wrong

You are not wrong at all. I have 9 girls and I wanted to originally go with just my 2 sisters (MOH'S) and I ended up going with like 6 of them. I got a dress that I hated and switched them about a month ago. Next time I went..I only went with my sisters.

She will get over it....

Ang,
This is a tough one...
While I see your point of just taking your sisters, I do see his point too.
I took Denise and Chrissy for the first go-around before I took the rest of my bridal party because I love Chrissy and didn't ever want her to feel left out just because she wasn't my MOH. When she married my brother, she became one of my sisters, you know?
I also don't necessarily think your FH should be mad about it, because at the end of the day it's a nice gesture to take your FSIL, but it's most certainly not required!!
Love you!!

I don't think you are wrong at all! Too many opinions at first are bad. As much as she will be your family she isn't your sister. And I would totally tell him you'll be happy to take his sister on the next go around...
