Two of my family members (related by marriage) didnt show up at my wedding. They knew about it, I had sent them both an invititation. Their sisters, niece and nephew all attended. I think it's so rude, we paid for their plates and yet we didn't even get a 'sorry I couldn't make it'. One of them called my grandma today (a month after the wedding) and said they never received an invite. Its BS because we sent one and their whole family knew about the wedding. I dont know what to do in this situation. I know I'll see them again soon. Am I wrong for being pissed? Should I say something

Re: am i wrong for being POed?
did you pay for their plates without having received an rsvp? If yes - then perhaps you should have confirmed with them prior to holding seats for them.
But yes, I'd be pissed too.

did they ever reply? If so, then that is your proof that they received an invite. If they never replied, I would not have paid for their plates

it's hard because you'd have to get your mom involved if it got ugly. Then, they'll just say that your mom mixed something up.
so, I wouldn't mention it. But, I would also NEVER forget it either...

I know Im not really confrontational but its just pissing me off because his excuse is 'he never received an invite' when I know he did. At least say something reasonable like 'I just couldnt make it'. And the other brother has yet to even call..I guess this is just how people are sometimes.

I'd be pissed. They know that your mom relayed that they would be there!

When you see them next, just be cold. Don't be nasty, just don't be friendly- they'll get the point.

I would be really pissed. I'm sure down the road you will be able to find a way not to show up to one of their events, what goes around comes around.

Maybe he didnt recieve an invite?? Some times if they are accidentally addressed wrong, who ever gets it takes forever to put it in the mail as a return! I sent out our save the dates and I got one returned to me 2 months later in the mail!!! Either way I am sure that he knew of the wedding and would have expressed to someone they didnt recieve an invite before the wedding!... I'd be PO'd especially if someone told your mom they were attending!!!

I agree with you. If they don't RSVP or return calls to me and only me to confirm, then I would not pay for them. I would be pissed though.

Re: am i wrong for being POed?
I'd be annoyed too ......I also had KEY people (like DH's Grandmother) RSVP and come to Church, then just not show up at the Reception. Let it go .......don't be cold, or rude. You have every right to be annoyed, but what are you going to do ??
