am i wrong for saying?

am i wrong for saying?

Don't bother coming to the reception when the guy is insisting on NEVER missing a day of work for 4 years.....he works the early shift and said he wouldn't take the day off to make the early ceremony.

I would think this in my head and never forget it, but just let it go and have him still invited to the reception. People suck sometimes! You seriously start to see people who you would think care about you showing that they don't.

I agree with this...my views on people have changed alot through this whole experience, its unfortunate but the reality of it is that people are inconsiderate. Try not to let it get to you

i hope you dont take this the wrong way but i kinda see this guy's point. if your start time on your chat avatar is accurate, then your ceremony starts at 10 am on a friday? i can undertsand people missing the ceremony because they have to work and just going to the reception.

Who is the person to whom you are referring? Is it someone close? I've been to many receptions on Fridays and skipped the ceremonies because of work.

i think it depends on the situation and how close you are to this person. we had a friday wedding and came to accept the fact that people won't be coming to the ceremony b/c it's friday and ppl have work. My FH said himself that he finds it rather selfish if we expect people to take a day off for us b/c we chose to have it on friday. i saw where he was coming from but i was thinking more of closest friends at least. luckily, we had more people come to the ceremony that we expected so i was happy w/ it.

if it was a just a guest, i wouldn't be mad, but if it is a bridal party member, that is obv unacceptable

My issue was that he wasn't sorry about it, he was just like 'well at least I'll make the party.........'

He is on the B list anyway but I would have moved him to the A list if he had verbally said he would do what he could...

but would you really want him saying 'he would do what he could' if he knows for a fact that he won't be able to make the ceremony? in general, guys tend to say it like it is - and it sounds to me that he was just being honest about his attendance - that he'll at least be making the party. i personally don't see the rudeness in his response to you... just that he is responding with an answer you probably didn't want to hear. to feel better, just think of all the people who WILL be taking time off to make it to your ceremony... i'd focus more on those who will be there, and spend less time worrying about those who won't. and no matter what, i'm sure you'll have a beautiful wedding day.

Oh I'm not worried, it won't upset me if he can't make it.. because things happen. I totally understand that.

I think I'm more pissed about the whole 'party' thing........
